Methodology

Spot rates shown are indicative mid-market rates collected from public data providers and refreshed regularly (fiat daily, crypto every few minutes).

Historical rates for major currencies are the daily euro foreign exchange reference rates published by the European Central Bank (available from 1999), converted to any pair through the US dollar. Reference rates are published once per working day (around 16:00 CET) and do not include weekends and holidays; a date without a rate uses the latest earlier one.

For currencies not covered by the ECB, our history starts when we began recording daily snapshots. Cross rates are computed as the ratio of the two currencies against the US dollar. Charts and tables on long periods may be averaged to keep pages fast.

These figures are for information only. They are not official rates for tax, legal or accounting use; always check the rate required by the relevant authority or your bank.
